Maternity shoots are always a blast. Especially when you get to try out new techniques. No Photo-Shoppin' here. Shawnia has turned into quite the athlete this year. Not only has she walked or biked to work for nearly 300 consecutive days (yes.... even during the crazy snow) but she also has two triathalons under her belt. We had to put one of our cats down yesterday. Her kidneys failed over the weekend. She was the star of the house and neighborhood. When I was asked to take the head shots for work this summer, I decided to take a different approach at each site. I thought that I would try a light, medium gray, and black background using a one, two and three light set-up. You may be surprised at which background had the least number of lights. Oh yeah.... I was asked to do a head-shot for local realtor Don Hay. He is a really personable guy who was a bit tentative to be in front of the camera. I shot my last wedding of 2007 on a very snowy December afternoon. Debbie and Victor are a great couple who were anxious for the nuptials to begin. I was asked to shoot a few portraits for one of the Breakers soccer teams. The coaches asked for the typical 'line up in the goal' pics. I agreed to do that, but set the girls up for a dramatic shot at the end. I had less than five minutes to set the shot up and snap two frames. Robbie Johnson has been a friend of mine for quite a few years. I used to do my best to follow him down the trail in my down-hilling days.He finally met his match in Val, a beautiful girl who made an absolutely stunning bride. On the luckiest date of the year (07/07/07), I shot a beautiful ceremony in Arlington. Terri and Kevin were married on a beautiful summer day at an equally beautiful location.
